Its (fab)ulous to have this healthy cafe in the city

Fabcafe strives to offers wholesome and nutritious food, inspired from traditional Indian cuisine. Instead of refined sugar, oil and wheat they cook with ghee, healthy alternative grains, unrefined jaggery and seasonal high fiber fruit and vegetables. All ingredients are organically, naturally and seasonally.

In salads and juices, Chicken Tikka Salad brings together fresh crispy greens and sumptuous chicken tikka to a wholesome salad. The pickled onions and tahina dressing gives a refreshing flavour. Wild Berry is a concoction of slow pressed juice and with sweetness of cane juice, its 100% fruit juice with zero additives.

For meat lovers in appetizers, there is luscious Mutton Galouti on a mini Kuttu Bread. They are not in big patty shape but bite-sized kebabs. The perfectly spiced, aromatic, soft and succulent kebabs absolutely melt in the mouth. The buckwheat flour is definitely a healthier option than wheat or refined flour but this made the bread base very dry. Did not work as contemporary of ulta tawa paratha.

In main, Parsi Chicken Dhansak is slow cooked chicken preparation with lentils and vegetables served with six grain paratha and three different pickles. The chicken gravy was rich and flavoursome but here I felt the taste tends more towards dal makhani. The chicken just melted inside mouth. Lucknowi Cashew Mutton Korma is a boneless meat cooked in a base of cashew with a hint of saffron was succulent and well-soaked in freshly ground spices. Tender soft meat with delicate gravy made an amazing combo with well cooked brown rice.

In desserts, Himalayan Organic Honey and Walnut Tart has the goodness of walnut baked with almond flour tart shell. Organic honey and jaggery are used as sweeteners, replacing refined sugar. Both, crusty and yummy yet not sinful! Fruit Payasam, with a generous serving of seasonal fruits along with condensed coconut milk is another toothsome treat for your sweet tooth.

Lastly, before getting up from the table do not forget to try their Kombucha. Its a sparkling probiotic beverage for a happy gut. the fermented tea is full of antioxidants, digestive enzymes and organic acids.

Taste wise the mains maybe the weakest link. Indian taste buds are seasoned for rich and spicy palate.
